Popular questions
How does Neighborly Harvest work?
Customers browse nearby farms and available products, choose the pickup or delivery options offered by each farm, and place orders online. Farmers manage their storefront, products, fulfillment options, and orders from their dashboard.
Can I order from more than one farm?
You can browse products from multiple farms. Because each farm controls its own pickup and delivery details, review your cart and checkout carefully so each order matches the farm's fulfillment options.
Do farms offer pickup or delivery?
Some farms offer pickup, some offer farmer delivery, and some may offer both. The available options are shown on the farm storefront, product pages, cart, and checkout.
How do farmers get paid?
Farms that accept online orders connect payments through Stripe. Eligible payouts are handled through the farm's connected payment account after orders are processed.
How do I list my farm?
Start from the farm listing page, create your farm profile, add your products, set pickup or delivery options, and connect payments when you are ready to accept online orders.
For customers
How do I find farms near me?
Use the marketplace or farms map to browse local farms. You can search by location and review each farm's storefront for products, fulfillment options, and service details.
Can I search by product?
Yes. You can search and browse for local foods such as eggs, meat, dairy, produce, pantry goods, and other products listed by participating farms.
Do I pick up my order or get delivery?
That depends on the farm. Each farm sets its own pickup windows, delivery availability, service area, and order timing.
Can I order from multiple farms?
You can shop across farms, but fulfillment is controlled by each individual farm. Check the cart and checkout details before placing an order so pickup and delivery instructions are clear.
What happens after I place an order?
You will receive order details and status updates. The farm can review the order, manage fulfillment, and provide pickup or delivery information.
For farmers
Who can list on Neighborly Harvest?
Neighborly Harvest is built for local farms and food producers that want a clearer way to get discovered, list products, and manage local orders online.
How much does it cost?
Farm plans and selling fees depend on the membership tier and checkout features a farm uses. Current plan details are shown in the farmer onboarding and membership flow.
Do farmers control pricing and inventory?
Yes. Farmers manage their own product names, photos, prices, quantities, availability, and storefront visibility from the dashboard.
How do orders work?
When customers place orders, they appear in the farmer dashboard with customer details, products, fulfillment method, and order status tools.
How do payouts work?
Farms that sell through online checkout connect payments through Stripe. Payout timing and eligibility are managed through the connected payment account and the farm's order activity.
Payments, fees, and orders
Is checkout secure?
Yes. Online payment collection is powered by Stripe, and checkout shows the order total before payment is submitted.
What service fee do customers pay?
Any customer service fee is shown during checkout before the order is placed. Fees may vary based on membership, order details, and marketplace rules.
Can I cancel an order?
Order cancellation depends on the order status, farm fulfillment timing, and product type. If cancellation is available, use your order details page or contact Neighborly Harvest for help.
How are refunds handled?
Refunds depend on the farm, product type, order status, and fulfillment issue. Perishable products may have limited refund eligibility after they are harvested, packed, picked up, or delivered.
Pickup and delivery
Who handles delivery?
Delivery options depend on the farm. Some farms handle delivery themselves, while others may offer pickup only.
Can farms set pickup days?
Yes. Farms set their own pickup days, pickup windows, order notice, delivery areas, and fulfillment limits.
What if a farm is outside my area?
If a farm does not serve your area, you may need to choose pickup, browse other nearby farms, or check back as more farms join the marketplace.
